5-Card “Bud” Is All The Rage in California.

Fresno Resident Arrested After Betting Weed in Casino.
In a story that has been spreading around the internet like crazy, it’s really no surprise that we here at Ridge Gaming want to spread the news to those readers who haven’t gotten a chance to follow up on this crazy development.

Apparently a Fresno, California, man walked into his local gaming establishment, sat his happy ass down at a 5-Card Stud poker table, and instead of betting casino chips like most normal gamblers, he bet something a little bit more unconventional.

Marijuana.

Yea, that was definitely not a typo.  A local player actually pulled out a bag of his finest sticky, plunked it down on the felt, and proceeded to go on about his business as the dealer looked on in absolute amazement.  You can check out the video yourself below.

Now once casino security got to the scene, the player actually began to separate his wagers into individual buds - each on a different betting circle on the table!  Security promptly cleaned up the mess on the table, and then escorted the player outside where he was immediately arrested by the police. Clutching a silly grin on his face as he was being questioned by the police, he just couldn’t fathom how he was being detained for doing something as natural as betting marijuana instead of real money?

Citing to the boys in blue that he was not doing anything illegal since he has a “Cannibus” card from the internet, it of course wasn’t enough of a case for the cops to let him go.  Authorities told him that he was still going downtown for possession and possibly possession with an intent to sell after he placed his weed wager to the casino dealer.

Does news get any funner than this?
