27134 players in Event 1 of Pokerstars SCOOP

The first tournament of the PokerStars Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) has now finished and a staggering 27134 players made up the field - possibly setting the record for the most players in an online poker tournament. The MTT, a $5.50 rebuy No Limit Hold’em event, began with over 4500 six seat tables, 220 million chips in play and certainly started off the SCOOP proceedings with a bang - eventually Eetu100 took it down for a truely ‘balla’ $41,000 pay day.

The official final table payouts from this humongous SCOOP tournament are as follows:

1st Place: Eetu100 - $41,562.77
2nd Place: MrWhite - $29,364.53
3rd Place: bakter9 - $17,401.21
4th Place: jw32123 - $8,700.61
5th Place: canucko - $4,350.31
6th Place: AragonX - $3,045.22

Once the table dropped into headsup vs MrWhite, Eetu100 started with more than 80% of the remaining chips so MrWhite needed to make progress fast. After a quick double-up he must have thought things were looking good when he got his chips in with top pair queen kicker (AQ) on a A89 flop, but Eetu100 had already made two pairs (A8). MrWhite could not catch any of his six outs and had to be satisfied with a $29,000 second place.
