$30million Pokerstars Scoop Challenge up and running
April 3, 2009
Finally the Pokerstars scoop (spring championship of Online Poker) began yesterday with a guaranteed prize pool of $30m. There are 22 events running from the 2-12th April 2009 with each of these events being split into 3 different buy in levels; Low, Medium and Hi.
This makes a total of 66 tournaments over the course of 11 days. The highlight of which would have to be the main event on the 12th February for a $5million guaranteed prize pool for the high-Rollers and $1million for the lower stakes players.
Every type of poker game is represented in this 10 day series; from NL Holdem to Horse to mixed games, short handed / long handed as well as a couple of events giving the ability to re-buy and add on, so there is pretty much a tournament to suit all players at every bankroll.
The lowest rung of the tournaments on offer is priced at $5.50 but you are also able to enter with FPP (Frequent Player Points) or move up the buy in rungs using their step system (similar to ladder SNG’s were the top 2 people qualify for the next rung at a higher limit. There are 6 rungs to the Pokerstars ladder but you are offered a Major Tourney Buy in at step 4)
There are 2 Games running every day split at the pre mentioned stake levels. The first one tournament of the day is scheduled for 14:30 ET and the second at 16:30 ET
