Durrrr/Antonius Challenge steps up the pace

It seems finally Tom Dwan and Patrik Antonius have decided to take this challenge a little
more seriously after playing a near 7 hour session of $200/$400 Pot limit
Omaha last night.

Who knows what kicked them into gear last night? It could be down to the
poor pace set by the both of them over the last 7 weeks just as much as
the fact that many of the high stakes regulars are playing live poker at
Bellagio before the WPT championships? Whatever the reason it would be a
fair guess to say it wouldn’t be surprising for this battle to continue
over the next couple of days whilst many of the other players are away
from their PC’s.

After 2,042 hands, Antonius finished up $112,807 after winning the
sessions largest pot for $154,989 about half way through this meeting.

After a standard 3 bet call preflop, Dwan checks a JS7C5D board for
Antonius to lead out the betting with $21,600 so he could shove all in for
$71,695 which Antonius called. He showed KcKs10C10S whilst Dwan showed
AcJc8S7S to be ahead with top two pair. The turn drew a 4D and the river
was the 4C giving Antonius top two.

Durrr would return the favour when a few hands later they are both all in
again on a Jd5D5D flop. Antonius shows KskDqS9D for the King hi Flush
whilst Dwan showed AcAs7C3H. The turn dropped the 5S and the river 5C to
give Dwan the house and the $143,328 pot.

After this latest session, the lead in this challenge has swung back to
Antonius to the tune of $80,707 after a total of 9,290 hands, just under
20% of the total 50,000 hands required.
