 ePassporte Shuts Down Industry Wide

It started as a rumor, and now it is fact. Epassporte has cut off all online gaming sites today in a sudden and unexpected move. This is just like what Neteller did a couple years ago, without notice, and without warning.Several people are scrambling trying to get money off of ePassporte and someplace safe.

This is a serious blow to many poker players that have been relying on ePassporte to move money between poker sites. Once again our useless government is working hard to make our lives as difficult as possible. The funny part is that we will have another e-cashier take their place in a matter of days. Cake Poker has already launched a in e-wallet called my “Use my wallet” and I would bet many other rooms do the same.

the bottom line is that Online Poker is a billion dollar business and poker players are very determined to fight against people trying to limit our rights as US citizens. This attempt to deter us will fail just like the UIGEA and Neteller. We will play on, and we will win. in the meantime, if you can get to your ePassporte account, get your money out!

Very official too folks - this is from Cake Poker’s website:

“To all Cake Poker Customers:

We have received notice from ePassporte today that they are unable to continue to provide CakePoker with merchant e-wallet services. We have since confirmed that this situation is not unique to CakePoker and is, in fact, industry wide.

While we are disappointed with this decision, we want to reassure all players that there will be no impact to either your account balances or your account status at Cake. We are pleased to have launched earlier this week with a new payment processor and have already secured alternative processors/eWallets that we will be launching in the weeks to come.

We are also in discussions with other providers that will be making their services available in the CakePoker cashier soon. Players are welcome to inquire with Customer Support for more details.
As always, we value your business and will continue to make every effort possible to make your poker experience a great one.

Regards,

The Cake Poker Team”

Why do you think ePassporte closed and what are you going to do about it. Leave us a comment or let us know in the poker forums.
