Epassporte Shuts Off US Players?
April 11, 2008
Although we cannot officially confirm this rumor; we do know that poker sites including Cake Poker and Absolute Poker have removed the option from their sites. Poker Stars still lists ePassporte as an option, but if you click on it you receive an error message. This has all the feeling of a Neteller size mess and many in the poker world are really nervous.
This rumor first started on some well known poker forums, specially 2+2 - and has quickly spread across the online poker community. You can read the official thread here - As of right now, we don’t have official word from Pokerstars or Cake Poker and we have tried several times to contact them. I wouldn’t push the panic button yet, but this brings back very bad memories for many poker players.
We are contacting everyone we know in the poker industry trying to get an official response. We will update here or in the poker forums as soon as we know anything else.
