Season Five Is a GO for High Stakes Poker!

high-stakes-poker Season Five Is a GO for High Stakes Poker! It was recently announced by GSN that the popular television show, “High Stakes Poker,” will be back for a fifth season. The live poker show is played in a cash game format and has seen many popular poker pros competing against each other - creating of course many memorable moments….and unbelievable pot sizes.

GSN will begin production on the fifth season in late December and the show will be filmed at the Golden Nugget. The cast of season five has yet to be announced but fans can rest assured that their favorite players are sure to be participating. It is believed that the buy-in for the event will be $200,000.

Kevin Belinkoff, the Vice President of Programming for GSN, recently commented on the format of the game on the show:

“It’s still High Stakes Poker; it will still be no-limit hold’em. We always look to change the game up, look for different things we can do with the game, different players, but at the end of the day, it will still be the same cash game that everyone knows. We kind of let the players do their own thing, so if they come up with other things, then we just let them have their way with it.”

It has been almost a year since the fourth season of High Stakes Poker wrapped up and fans have been anticipating its return. Many high profile poker pros have competed on the show including: Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu and Jamie Gold. It will be interesting to see who makes up this seasons cast. I would not be surprised to the see the new WSOP champion, Peter Eastgate try his luck at the table.
