APPT Syndey Brings Out Prop Bet Shenanigans.

The 2008 APPT Sydney has officially gotten started in the land down under over in Australia. Many of the world’s top pros from the U.S. and abroad have flown in for the massive event, with a lot of local players also plunking down some massive cash to get their own shares of some of the sick prize money being offered up.

One of the more colorful characters making it in for this event is none other than local pro Billy “The Croc” Argyros. The Main Event has barely started Day 1 play, but he’s already made the upcoming finale of this APPT a fun one to look forward to. The Croc has called out newly-crowned 2008 WSOP champ Peter Eastgate and challenged the young 22-year old to a “last-longer” bet in the upcoming APPT championship!

He has offered a straight-up $10,000 wager on who will last the longest during the Main Event. Billy feels he has an edge not because of his elder status on the younger Eastgate (haha), but because he will not have the 20+ hour jetlag the Main Event champion will have experienced en route to Australia from Las Vegas. He hopes to inform Peter of the fun little prop bet once he actually GETS in to the country, and is definitely hoping for a little side action from this wager as well.
