tomdwanaussie-225x300 Tom Durrrr Dwan Going Broke? This story has been gaining speed all week, the poker rumor mill is always turning and the big story this week is: Is Tom dwan (Durrrr) going busto? You knew it was just a matter of time before rumors like this started flying around about Durrrr who recently made an Open Million Dollar Challenge to the poker world’s best pros.

The even bigger question is: Does this rumor have some truth to it? Shortly after durrrr issued the challenge, he played a few prelim session against Patrick Antonius and lost just over 500k. Since that nasty session, thousands of railbirds have witnessed Dwan lose over 3 million dollars! Even with a huge bankroll a 3 million lose is bound to put doubt in the mind of even the most seasoned professional players. Especially right before he starts his Million Dollar challenge against at least 3 of the best Omaha cash game players.

Over the last few years since the Moneymaker boom of 2003, the poker world has seen plenty of big name high stakes players hit the “wall” and some have never recovered. Dwan’s ego could ultimately be his undoing and the phrase “careful what you wish for comes to mind”.

One thing is for sure, Durrrr now has a huge target on his back and anyone capable of sitting down with him will seek him out now in hopes of taking advantage of his recent down swing. He will have to focus and get his “A’ game going before he incurs serious losses like this again, and definitely before he sits down with real pros like Phil Ivey.
