Poker Prop Players
What is a Poker Prop
A propositional player (prop player) is a players paid by the poker room to start new games and to keep the poker tables active. Prop players play with their own money and keep all winnings and losses. The pay from the poker room to the prop player is usually paid weekly and includes 100% Rakeback and sometimes an additional hourly rate. This all depends on your agreement with the poker room.
How much can I make propping?
Below are some quick estimates using 100% rakeback - 6 handed max tables - Moderate pot sizes - and 55 hands an hour at each table.
Playing heads up and three handed the rates will likely be much higher. Also some props are comfortable playing 4-7 tables at a time which of course will yield a much higher hourly rate. (At some sites props are required to play 2 tables at a time, but most do not have a minimal table requirement).
Do all sites use Poker Props?
Most of new poker rooms use props in order to get their sites started. Some of the larger sites continue to use props but most large sites suspend their prop program once their website has reached a steady mass of player traffic.
